KUALA LUMPUR: A man who claimed to be Nabi Isa (Jesus Christ) was arrested by police in Jalan Tun Razak here yesterday after threatening to kill some of the country’s leaders.
This was confirmed by Wangsa Maju Police Chief Supt Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif to Bernama today.
He said the suspect, in his 40s, was handed over to the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) for further investigation.
“After Jawi has investigated him, police will be investigating the suspect under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation,” he said.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police on Thursday arrested a man who proclaimed himself as a prophet, and threatened to eliminate the Malay Rulers, as well as the country’s top leaders.
The 43-year-old man had allegedly made the claim and remarks when police stopped his car at Jalan Tun Razak for checks about 4.30pm yesterday.
Sources said a police team on a crime prevention patrol flagged down the man’s SUV when they saw that it was fitted with registration plates bearing the words: ‘Kerajaan Empayar Langkasuka Nusantara Tuanku Raja Merongmahawangsa II Sultan Kedah Asal Imam AlMahdi’.
When the policemen stopped him, they showed their authority cards and told him that he was stopped for police checks.
The man, who was upset, then questioned the policemen if they knew who he was and told them to check with the palace and Inspector-General of Police.
