Rosmah’s ‘false bravado’ in Parliament http://dlvr.it/MYgtZl
YOURSAY | ‘Power is in their hands only because the people allow them to have that power.’
GE14Now!: PM’s wife Rosmah Mansor’s answer “Yes I am (MO1’s wife)” on its own might be construed as sarcasm (although one would need to stretch one’s imagination a little to accommodate that line of thinking).
But to add “You think I am scared of you” puts the so-called sarcasm in its proper context. This is no longer sarcasm – this is now a bald-faced threat. Rosmah is essentially saying, “You cannot get me anyway”.
This is a pure demonstration of what Lord Acton meant when he said that absolute power corrupts absolutely. The saving grace for Malaysia is that Najib and his wife ‘think’ they have absolute power.
The day will come when they will realise that power is in their hands only because the people allow them to have it. But the tolerance of the people is now wearing really thin.
Grey Matter: Rosmah’s aide Rizal Mansor, it’s you who now needs English classes. It is clear from the point of view of the public that an admission with a threat is not sarcasm.
Gerard Lourdesamy: This is the kind of arrogant statement that ensures Rosmah being universally loathed by Malaysians irrespective of their political affiliations.
If the Tanjong MP is unfit to be a member of parliament, I suggest that Rosmah contest against him in the next general election on a BN ticket. Let’s see who wins.
As for her false bravado in Parliament, why not repeat that statement in front of the US Department of Justice (DOJ) building in Washington DC?
Last I heard, diplomatic immunity does not apply to the spouse of a prime minister.
Roger 5201: Rosmah may think she has a higher intellect compared to the DAP MP, but she is has no official appointment and is not elected by the people, whereas the Tanjong MP is.
Rizal and the party he represents are naive for believing they can hide behind MO1 forever.

Rosmah admitted she is MO1’s wife, claims MP
The prime minister’s wife Rosmah Mansor has admitted she is the wife of Malaysian Official 1 (MO1), a DAP lawmaker claimed.
Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik wrote on his Facebook last Friday that he had asked “who is the wife of MO1” while passing by Rosmah.
He claimed that Rosmah replied: “Yes, I am. You think I am scared of you?”
When contacted, Ng claimed the exchange happened in the Dewan Rakyat, during the opposition’s walkout last Friday.
Rosmah was seated behind the opposition lawmakers in the House while her husband Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak tabled Budget 2017.
Malaysiakini has contacted Rosmah’s aide for comment regarding the alleged incident.
Did Rosmah steal public funds, disrupt marriages, asks Bung Moktar
An Umno lawmaker questioned what the prime minister’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, had done to deserve the “insolent act” by several protesters during the Bersih 4 rally last year.
“What wrong has she (Rosmah) done?
“Did she steal public money, disrupt people’s marriages? No!” said Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin during his debate on Budget 2017 yesterday.
Bung Moktar was referring to an incident in which Bersih 4 participants had put a broom to a photograph of Rosmah and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
“As a leader, we must show respect.
“If Bersih wants to do their work, go ahead, but this (act) just shows that they are insolent,” he said.
Bung Moktar also demanded Bersih chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah to take responsibility for the incident and urged inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar to take stern action.
“But to bring a photograph of the prime minister’s wife and the prime minister, sweep it with a broom, that to me is an extremely insolent act,” he said.
To a question from Rasah MP Teo Kok Seong on whether action should similarly be taken against the Umno-linked red-shirts and their anti-Bersih rallies, Bung Moktar said he “walks in the middle”.

Rosmah’s aide censures Maria for ‘dangerous ignorance’
Rizal mentioned incidents of Bersih participants sweeping images of leaders with brooms and questioned whether Maria was truly Malaysian as she did not seem to understand the cultural significance of brooms.
Yesterday, Rizal asked if Maria practised double standards by lodging a police report against the death threat she received but remained silent on Bersih supporters making mock graves for the prime minister and his wife as well as carrying out a traditional Chinese funeral for them.
