UMNO MP, Nawawi Ahmad, who says the STUPIDEST things, now says “Sorry” and expects that nothing will happen to him!

Langkawi MP was one of the ‘dirty rats’ who ‘rejoiced’ at Karpal Singh’s demise…

‘Stupid’ is as Langkawi MP speaks, “My salary comes fropm the government, not the people.”

Anina: ‘What if a member had said is the Agong?’

Alyaa Azhar

Former Langkawi Umno member Anina Saadudin wonders what would have been the result if a DAP member had claimed that ‘Malaysian Official 1’ (MO1) is none other than the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Anina was responding to Umno lawmaker Nawawi Ahmad who had apologised to the Agong for his remarks regarding MO1.

“Imagine if such a comment came from a DAP member. The issue will be played by TV3 for at least a month,” she told Malaysiakini.

As such, Anina is of the opinion that the police, as well as Umno, must take action against Nawawi for making such a remark.

And it is also not enough for Nawawi to merely apologise to the Agong, added Anina, who has filed a police report against Nawawi for linking the MO1 to the Agong.

“The Sultan of Kedah is a king in the hearts of Kedahans. If you were to apologise to the king, you must also say sorry to all Kedahans because we were hurt over your statement,” she said.

“Nawawi’s remarks had touched on the constitution. You say sorry and that’s it? No.

“If you make a mistake, say sorry and get away scot-free, then the rakyat can do the same thing.

“Anyone from the street then will make comments in relation to the Agong and just say sorry. So, the police should take action, at least open investigation papers,” she said.

What was more surprising, Anina added, was that the remarks had come from an Umno leader. Umno, she added, is a party that supposedly champions the Malay rulers.

Agong’s cousin ticks off MP for dragging in palace in ‘MO1’ matter

Langkawi MP Nawawi Ahmad should not have dragged the Agong and the palace into the Malaysian Official 1 matter, said the Majlis Kerabat Diraja Kedah.

The NGO. led by the ruler, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah’s cousin, Syed Idrus Syed Baharom, said the institution should not be toyed with.

“Tuanku is the ruler of the country, he is not an administrator. Why was he even dragged into this?” Syed Idrus asked at a press conference in Alor Setar.

“This is a warning to all and we don’t want to hear anything else like this,” he is reported by Berita Harian as saying.

Langkawi MP: I will apologise only to Agong, and only if he asks

Langkawi parliamentarian Nawawi Ahmad will only apologise…..at the monarch’s behest, and only to him, reports Sinar Harian.

However, he hopes that he will not have to ask for pardon from the monarch he holds to be the number one official authority in the land.

“To apologise, I must have done something wrong. But in this case I am innocent, why should I apologise?

“But if it is to His Highness, whether or not I did something wrong, if summoned, I will obey and apologise. Because I place him as number one.

“But I hope that it will not happen,” he reportedly said.

According to the report, when asked if he had received any letter from the office of the Agong, who is also Kedah sultan, requesting for an explanation over the matter, he said there were none.

“None… I think the palace did not misunderstand my remark (like some may have). But if they do (send a summons), I am wiling to ask for forgiveness from His Highness as I never meant to infer that he was (MO1 as mentioned) in the US Department of Justice (DOJ) suit.

“I was only enumerating on our constitution which has been around since 1957,” he said.

Who is equally stupid to come to his defence?

The police will quiz Umno lawmaker Nawawi Ahmad over his Facebook comment linking the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to Malaysian Official 1 (MO1), said inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar.

“We have received the (police) reports and investigations are underway.

“Yes (we will record his statement), that is part of the investigation process,” he told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Perkasa Youth handed a memorandum to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong calling for His Majesty to take action against the Langkawi MP.

Perkasa Youth chief Irwan Fahmi Ideris said the Agong, who is also the Kedah Sultan, should revoke Nawawi’s datukship.

Irwan also urged the police to take action since five reports had been lodged on the matter.

“Don’t hide (the case), we want action. We want him to be charged. We want the police to play their role in defending the royal institution,” he told reporters after handing a memorandum on the matter to an official at Istana Negara.

Perkasa integrity, anti-corruption and abuse of power bureau secretary Dr Muhammad Faiz Na’aman criticised Nawawi for terming the ruler as an official.

“MO1 means official number one. The Agong is not an official. If Nawawi as a MP does not understand national affairs, than he is stupid,” he added.

Own up to making the remark, Anina tells Nawawi

August 19, 2016

Former Umno Wanita member dares Langkawi MP to take counter action against her police report over his remark linking the Agong to MO1.

z.jpg

PETALING JAYA: Langkawi MP Nawawi Ahmad should own up to the statement he made, allegedly linking the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to Malaysian Official One (MO1), instead of playing the blame game.

This, said former Umno member Anina Saadudin, was because Nawawi’s remark was made in response to a Facebook user’s question as to who was the MO1 named in the US Department of Justice’s (DoJ) report.

“If he had explained separately from the question posed to him on Facebook, then that’s fine. But he was answering it directly.

“That’s why I, along with seven others, lodged a report against him (Nawawi) for insulting the Agong by linking the Ruler to the MO1 mentioned by the DoJ,” Anina told FMT.

Take action against this ‘biadap’ MP

By Tan Sri Robert Phang Miow Sin

I am Chinese but am firstly a Malaysian. I lived through the independence of Malaya.

Although I am Chinese, I did not have a problem with that as it galvanised my Malay brothers to achieve excellence. Everyone and everything flourished then.

As a Malaysian, I was proud that my king and country are respected the world over.

However, in recent years I have seen an erosion of all these values and virtues. Even former Deputy Prime Minister Musa Hitam said that we are sliding to become a failed state.

But what distressed me most was the incessant lying by Umno politicians in the 1MDB matter.

The ultimate lie is when the MP of Langkawi dared to smear and malign our sovereign, our King, our Yang di-Pertuan Agong as MO1 (Malaysian Official 1), a term used by the USA DoJ to describe a top official of the Malaysian Government who received millions of funds in his personal accounts.

This is despicable. This is “biadap” (rude). This is “derhaka” (being unfaithful).

I am Chinese but I respect the Yang di-Pertuan Agung.

A politician who cannot do that is an abomination to the nation. But all this is happening because Umno politicians are trying to be cheeky by playing on the term “MO1”.

That is why the Langkawi MP, daring to insult our royal Institution, by suggesting that the “MO1” is the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, is treason. This is seditious. The AG must prosecute this “biadap” man.

At the same time, all these would not happen if the Attorney-General makes a clarification as to who “MO1” is.

Allah Selamatkan Raja-Raja kami. Daulat Tuanku!

MO1: Nawawi says he has been misunderstood

Langkawi MP claims he was merely interpreting the Federal Constitution which says Malaysia’s number one leader is the Agong.

PETALING JAYA: Langkawi MP Nawawi Ahmad today denied linking the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to the Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) named in the US Department of Justice’s (DoJ) report.

Speaking to FMT, Nawawi said he was merely providing his own interpretation of the Federal Constitution which stated that the country’s number one leader is the Agong.

“I did not say that the MO1 mentioned by the DoJ was the Agong. I know he is not involved with 1MDB.

“I was just providing a definition of who the Constitution says is Malaysia’s real MO1 which according to Article 32 is the Agong. Again, I wasn’t talking about MO1 in the context of the DoJ report.

“So I am of the opinion that it is wrong for anyone to say that Malaysian official number one is someone else, but I did not in any way link the Agong to the DoJ report.”

‘Najib too must apologise for the slight against Agong’

Despite calls for Langkawi MP Nawawi Ahmad to apologise for saying that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is the mysterious Malaysian Official 1 (MO1), an Amanah MP suggested that it is his boss Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak who has to beg for royal forgiveness for a much bigger sin.

“Actually, the slight against the Agong and the Conference of Rulers is much more serious and of a wider scope than thought.

“Najib himself as the prime minister must apologise to the Conference of Rulers for ignoring their October 2015 royal decree for the government to expeditiously remedy the 1MDB matter,” said Kuala Terengganu MP Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad in a statement today.

The Terengganu prince said the government led by Najib has failed to take action to protect Malaysia’s good name.

The 1MDB issue has become more serious, with countries like Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Singapore and the United States taking legal action against persons and accounts linked to the government-owned investment fund.

“Actually, the Agong and the Conference of Rulers had urged that Najib resolve the 1MDB matter, but now Nawawi tried to implicate the Agong in the MO1 (controversy).

“Not only is the Langkawi MP’s actions rude and slanderous, Najib’s inaction had also led to the problem becoming worse,” said Raja Bahrin.

Umno lawmaker adds royal twist to ‘MO1’ saga

An Umno lawmaker Nawawi Ahmad added a royal twist to the saga surrounding Malaysian Official 1, who was mentioned in the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) civil suits related to alleged abuse of 1MDB funds.

In a Facebook comment, which was edited four hours later, the Langkawi MP said based on the Federal Constitution, it is the Yang di-Pertuan Agong who is responsible for the government.

Police report lodged against Umno MP over ‘MO1 is Agong’ remarks

Former Langkawi Wanita Umno member Anina Saadudin has filed a police report against Umno lawmaker Nawawi Ahmad, who had surmised that Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) is none other than the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Lodging the report at the Langkawi district police headquarters, Anina expressed hope that the police would investigate the matter.

“This is to ensure that the royal institution, which is a constitutional institution, continues to be respected by the people,” she said in a Facebook post today.

In a Facebook comment, which was edited four hours later, Nawawi said based on the Federal Constitution, it is the Agong who is responsible for the government.

“According to the Federal Constitution, Malaysia’s government was formed with three separate and independent entities, the judiciary headed by the chief justice, the legislative led by the parliament speaker, and the executive directed by the prime minister.

“All three entities are responsible to the Agong. Hence, according to the constitution, MO1 is the Agong,” said the Langkawi MP.

In his comments later, Nawawi said that he was not talking about MO1 in the context of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) lawsuit, but rather in terms of the constitution.
