SINGAPORE: A woman has been arrested for damaging the Kinetic Rain arts sculpture at Changi Airport Terminal 1.
Responding to queries from Channel NewsAsia, police said they have arrested a woman in her 30s in connection with the incident, and that investigations are on-going.

A Channel NewsAsia viewer said that part of the installation was still functioning around 1pm on Sunday, but appeared to be shut down later on.
In a separate statement, Changi Airport said the sculpture was damaged by a member of public on Saturday.
Singapore — A woman has been arrested in Singapore for damaging the Kinetic Rain arts sculpture at Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 1.
Hanging in the airport’s departure check-in hall, it is said to be the world’s largest kinetic art sculpture.
A video showing a woman in a white dress traipsing around the Kinetic Rain installation at the airport has been widely viewed online.
Police said the woman arrested is in her 30s, and that the investigation is ongoing.

The woman, who was wearing a white dress, appeared to have climbed over the railing at Changi Airport Terminal 1 and onto a metallic safety netting below part of the installation, where she is pictured in a series of photographs grabbing bunches of the metallic “raindrops”.
When Yahoo Singapore visited the scene at Terminal 1 on Sunday afternoon, the affected installation was
found to be tangled up, while the movement of other portion of the artwork was turned off. Glass droplets littered the ground and the area was cordoned off.
