Now, ‘clown-face Guan Eng’ emerges in Penang

A caricature of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng as a clown has emerged in the northern state, after a similar caricature of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak became popular nationwide.
Stickers of the Lim caricature were found stuck at public places like bus stops and street lamps, with the words ‘Bungalow Clown’, Umno Online reported.
According to Kampung Sungai Burong resident Yusri Ramli, the stickers emerged about a month ago.
“This is probably how the rakyat feels about the CM over the bungalow corruption issue he is facing.
“The clown face is a cynical reaction to Lim’s twists and turns when explaining his bungalow purchase,” he was quoted by the Umno news portal as saying.
Jelutong resident Jamelah Romzi, 47, said she did not realise it was Lim that was made out as a clown.
“But one day, I was waiting for the bus and the posters were there. I had a close look, and it turned out to be the chief minister,” she said.

Huan: Clown caricatures of LGE work of DAP itself
Parti Cinta Malaysia Vice-President Huan Cheng Guan says these posters are a way for disgruntled DAP members to show their dissent.

GEORGE TOWN: Clown caricatures of Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng could be the work of enemies within the DAP fold itself, Parti Cinta Malaysia Vice-President Huan Cheng Guan said today.
Huan said DAP frowned on those who voiced complaints against their leader and hence the anonymous posters were the only way to express their feelings.
“We are all aware that Lim has many political enemies. This includes the ones in DAP.
“How are we to know that it was not their own who pasted these posters all over?
“Maybe it is an enemy or his own DAP members? In DAP, no one has the right to voice their unhappiness.”

Earlier today, Umno Online reported the emergence of the posters, pasted on lamp poles and other street structures in Penang.
They portray a caricature of Lim smiling – with his nose and lips coloured red — accompanied by the words “Bersih 5.0”.
At the bottom were these words: “Clean Penang Up From Bungalow Clown”, followed by the words “Expel the Clown” in Chinese.
It closely resembled local artist Fahmi Reza’s sketch depicting Prime Minister Najib Razak as a clown.
