Yayasan Sime Darby hadiah RM100,000 kepada Azizulhasni
KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Foundation (YSD) memberi ganjaran RM100,000 kepada pelumba basikal trek kebangsaan Mohd Azizulhasni Awang kerana kejayaannya memenangi pingat gangsa di Sukan Olimpik Rio pagi ini.
Pengerusi YSD Tun Musa Hitam mengumumkan pemberian ganjaran tersebut kepada atlet digelar ‘The Rocket Pocket Man’ itu yang mendapatkan pingat Olimpik pertama bagi Malaysia dalam acara keirin.
“Anda berusaha memberi yang terbaik dan kami berbangga dengan pencapaian anda. Walaupun mengalami gangguan pada peringkat akhir, anda tidak patah semangat dan berjuang hingga ke garisan penamat. Prestasi anda dalam keadaan demikian menjadikan anda lebih berhak untuk mendapat kemenangan.

T’ganu MB orders probe into Olympic cyclist’s complaint
PETALING JAYA: The Terengganu State Sports Council has been directed to investigate the claim made earlier today by national cyclist Azizulhasni Awang that his requests for help were ignored.
Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman, in responding to the claim, said he was not aware of the request made by Azizulhasni previously.

The Terengganu MB also said a welcoming ceremony would be organised to celebrate the success of the Dungun-born athlete.

T’ganu MB: I was not informed of Azizulhasni’s request
Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said that he was unaware of any previous request from Olympic medal-wining cyclist Azizulhasni Awang for aid from the state government.
“I want to explain that the matter that was raised by Azizulhasni which is being spread in social media, was not brought to my attention,” he said in a statement.

“I am ready to meet with Azizul and listen to him with an open heart,” said Ahmad Razif.
The MB also said that he is evaluating a suitable reward to honour Azizulhasni’s achievement.
“The Terengganu government is making special preparations to celebrate his return,” he added.
A special gallery will also be created to showcase Terengganu sons and daughters who had achieved success in sports, including Azizulhasni’s Olympic feat.

Nigel Aw Olympic bronzemedalcyclist ‘thanks‘ T’ganu MB for not helping
Cyclist Azizulhasni Awang in his thank you note after bagging a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics 2016 has taken a sarcastic swipe at Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.
“To Terengganu menteri besar…Fatehah and I would still like to express our thanks even though you did not agree to help us, two Terengganu natives, competing on a global stage and at this Olympics.
“Thank you for not buying a ‘Road Bike’ for our use in preparation for this Olympics, even though the proposal was submitted nearly one year ago,” said Azizulhasni who placed third in the Keirin cycling event.
“Also, thank you for not giving us any feedback and remaining silent when my manager contacted you.
“For your information, Fatehah and I are world class Olympic athletes, something which you have always overlooked. Maybe one of the factors is that we have been training overseas,” said the 28-year-old in a Facebook post.
