KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysia Airlines (MAS) jet made an unscheduled landing in India on Thursday due to broken lavatories.

AFP reports that the aircraft was flying the same route as flight MH17, which was shot down over Ukraine last year.

The news agency quotes an airline spokesman as saying that MH19 landed in Chennai, India on a scheduled flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

“The plane had to land due to inoperable lavatories,” she said.
