It was his turn to get knocked out.
The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force has busted a New York man for at least seven ‘knockout’ assaults, police say.
Barry Baldwin, 35, punched out the victims between Nov. 9 and Christmas Eve in Canarsie and Midwood, police said.
All of the victims were white women and most were Jewish, a law-enforcement source said. At least two of the attacks occurred on the Sabbath, The New York Post reports.
“Everyone will sleep a little easier,” said Brooklyn Assemblyman Dov Hikind, who said the attacks frightened the community.
…
Baldwin, of East New York, has no prior arrests.
He was charged with six counts of assault as a hate crime, aggravated harassment and attempted assault.
Prosecutors tacked on menacing charges and one count of endangering the welfare of a child for punching out the mom who fell onto her 7-year-old.
Hikind said the arrest was welcome news. “No one in our community should live in fear,” he said.

Knockout game is killing innocent civilians
- 2 hours ago November 19, 2013
THE resurgence of a dangerously violent street game that targets innocent bystanders has left people dead and others fearing for their lives.
The aim of the game, known as Knockout, is to approach an unsuspecting passerby and punch them so powerfully they are knocked unconscious. The attacks are violent, deliberate and in some cases, fatal.
Why? Simply “for the fun of it,” said one teenage participant.
“They think it’s funny,” said another.
“They just go, boom, when it’s the right time and the right place.
“It could be anybody, it could be a mother with her children. It’s a macho thing.”
The game first surfaced in New York City several years ago and after a short lull, a number of recent attacks are proving it’s back, as violent as ever.
Police are keen to end the game once and for all, but are concerned it’s a growing trend among bored teens
Three have been killed in the last two years alone.
Seven attacks have been reported in New York, while one of the most graphic attacks occurred to an unsuspecting 16-year-old girl on the streets of London last year.
