The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Peter Jackson is venturing into Middle Earth one last time with the third installment of The Hobbit franchise – and he’s starting that journey right here.
The Battle of the Five Armies, the third and final film in Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy, has today exclusively revealed a poster image which reveals scenes from the upcoming film.
It shows a worried-looking Bilbo staring at the camera while Thorin Oakenshield lies slumped in his throne, and wizard Gandalf is seen brandishing his sword.

Lee Pace’s character Thranduil is also seen riding an elven elk

Evangeline Lilly attends the premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug in Los Angeles.
The latest instalment of The Hobbit movie series has had a star-studded unveiling in Hollywood.
The premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was preceded by a “black carpet” event that was broadcast live on YouTube and hundreds of other websites.
Instead of a traditional red carpet, director Sir Peter Jackson strolled what turned out to be a black one at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles yesterday alongside stars Orlando Bloom, Martin Freeman, Evangeline Lilly and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Throngs of fans lined barricades around the theatre to cheer their arrival.
Jackson, who was accompanied by daughter Katie, said it felt great to think his films had turned another generation on to The Hobbit. “Whatever liberties people say we take with the books . . . if it makes people read Tolkien’s original books then that’s great as well,” he said. “And obviously we’re also inspiring young people to make movies as well.”

When Sir Peter Jackson was searching for the perfect artist to write a song for the second Hobbit film, he ‘ took advice from someone very close to home – his daughter Katie.
The 17-year-old Samuel Marsden Collegiate School pupil urged him to listen to English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran before he toured New Zealand earlier this year.
“She said that I just had to listen to him, and that he could be the perfect fit for the end of the film … and she was right,” Jackson told an exclusive fan event at the Embassy Theatre yesterday.
