Locomotive of Hatyai-KL train catches fire, no injuries reported
The locomotive of the KL-bound train that caught fire.
IPOH: The locomotive of a train heading from Hatyai to Kuala Lumpur caught fire at Kuala Kangsar in the wee hours of the morning Saturday.
In the 3.30am incident, the locomotive of the 12-coach train carrying 442 passengers, suddenly caught fire while the train was near the SMK Simpang Beluru, Enggor railway bridge.

KTM Komuter train derails near Rawang Station
KUALA LUMPUR: Several Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) Komuter and ETS train services were disrupted following the derailment of its Komuter train at Kilometre 354.88 near the Rawang Station in Gombak, Selangor, today.
KTMB, in a statement issued here today said that the train services that were affected were for the Central Sector, involving the Rawang-Tanjung Malim route and the 11am ETS Silver train from KL Sentral to Ipoh.
However, for those who had bought the train tickets and wanted to continue with their journey, they could do so, it said, adding that a free shuttle bus service was available between Rawang and Serendah.
For the ETS Silver train from KL Sentral to Ipoh, the service will end at Rawang Station and passengers would be transported by bus to the Serendah Station to continue their journey to Ipoh, it said

Result of very poor maintenance of tracks and rolling stock. No schedule track rehabs and poor PE for rolling stocks. The above locomotive appears to be stretched beyond its running schedules
When YDM Indian leased locos almost 50 years old are still running, why a 24 class put into service in 1987 cannot last the pace……..clearely poor maintenance?
Tracks between Tg Malim and KL are not fit for electric trains. Something seriously wrong with KTMB management.
The maintenance workers probably want more pay ! Tracks not maintained are very dangerous. Lazy bastards !
