Jason Lo pleads not guilty to trespassing, consuming drugs


KUALA LUMPUR: Former CEO and musician Jason Lo has claimed trial at a magistrate’s court here to a charge of trespassing under Section 448 of the Penal Code.

The 44-year-old was accused of criminally trespassing a residence at Bangsar Park.

He allegedly committed the offence at 10pm on Oct 30.

He faces jail time up to three years or a maximum fine of RM5,000 or both, upon conviction.

Lo pleaded not guilty after the charge was read out in Malay.

DPP Wan Ahmad Hakimi Wan Ahmad Jaafar offered bail at RM5,000 in one surety.

Magistrate Wong Chai Sia fixed bail at RM2,000 in one surety.

The case is set for mention on Dec 17.

At another court, Lo faced another charge of consuming methamphetamine.

He allegedly tested positive for the drug at the Brickfields police district headquarters at about 5.15pm on Nov 15.

The charge under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 provides for a fine of up to RM5,000 or jail up to two years dan compulsory probation up to three years.

Lo also pleaded not guilty to the offence.

DPP Nur Fatin Mohd Farid offered RM5,000 for bail but Lo’s lawyer Mardhiyah Siraj asked for a lower amount.

“The accused is a father of three, all of whom are under his care. He has custody of two of the children while his ex-wife has custody of the other child, ” she said.

Magistrate Tawfiq Affandy Chin fixed bail at RM2,500 in one surety.

The case is set for mention on Dec 30.

BEKAS ketua pegawai eksekutif (CEO) syarikat telekomunikasi yang juga penyanyi, Jason Lo dihadapkan ke Mahkamah Majistret Kuala Lumpur, hari ini atas pertuduhan menceroboh sebuah rumah di Bangsar, Oktober lalu.

Jason atau nama sebenarnya Jason Jonathan Lo, 44, bagaimanapun mengaku tidak bersalah sebaik pertuduhan dibacakan di hadapan Majistret Wong Chai Sia.

Mengikut pertuduhan, tertuduh didakwa melakukan pencerobohan jenayah dengan memasuki sebuah kediaman di Lorong Maarof, Bangsar Park di Kuala Lumpur pada 10 malam, 30 Oktober lalu dan didakwa mengikut Seksyen 448 Kanun Keseksaan yang memperuntukkan hukuman penjara maksimum tiga tahun atau denda maksimum RM5,000 atau kedua-duanya, jika sabit kesalahan.

Terdahulu, Timbalan Pendakwa Raya Wan Ahmad Hakimi Wan Ahmad Jaafar menawarkan jaminan RM5,000 dengan seorang penjamin.

Mahkamah kemudian membenarkan tertuduh diikat jamin RM2,000 dengan seorang penjamin dan menetapkan 17 Disember ini untuk sebutan semula kes.

Sementara itu, di Mahkamah Majistret berasingan, Jason mengaku tidak bersalah atas pertuduhan memasukkan dadah jenis Methamphetamine ke dalam badan di tandas Pejabat Narkotik IPD Brickfields, pada jam 5.15 petang, 15 November lalu.

Dakwaan terhadapnya dikemukakan mengikut Seksyen 15(1)(a) Akta Dadah Berbahaya yang memperuntukkan denda maksimum RM5,000 atau penjara maksimum dua tahun dan diwajibkan pengawasan bawah seliaan pegawai pemulihan tidak kurang dua tahun dan tidak lebih lima tahun, jika sabit kesalahan.

Timbalan Pendakwa Raya Nur Fatin Mohd Farid menawarkan jaminan RM5,000 dengan seorang penjamin bagaimanapun peguam Mardhiyah Siraj memohon mahkamah memberikan jaminan yang rendah atas alasan anak guamnya menanggung keluarga.

Majistret Tawfiq Affandy Chin kemudian membenarkan jaminan RM2,500 dengan seorang penjamin dan menetapkan 30 Disember ini untuk sebutan semula kes.

Difahamkan, Jason membayar jaminan bagi dua kes berkenaan.
