“It is best that you keep your promise and retire, become a lecturer.

“If you cannot get to teach in Oxford, then you can try UniSel. I am sure (Selangor Menteri Besar) Khalid Ibrahim will give you a place there,” Zulkifli says in his blog.

‘Spend more time with your grandchildren’

“So (Anwar), it is time to make preparations for the coming of the angel of death, listen to more nasyid (religious recitals)… and before the angel comes, spend more time with your grandchildren.

“Remember that no matter how much we try to look young with botox, we will still die,” says the former Kulim Bandar Bahru MP on a macabre note.

Heng Seai Kie “disgusted” at way Anwar uses wife for political gains

PETALING JAYA: It will be a blow to women’s rights and gender equality should PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail make way for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the party elections next year, said MCA publicity bureau chairman Datuk Heng Seai Kie.

Heng said she was “disgusted” looking at the way Anwar was using his wife to strengthen his political power instead of his own efforts.

“This is uncalled for and unacceptable to all women in Malaysia or internationally,” she said in a statement on Saturday.

Heng, also MCA deputy national organising secretary, said Anwar had forced Dr Wan Azizah to step down as Permatang Pauh MP after the 2008 general election so he could contest the seat via a by-election.

She said the same might happen next year, with Dr Wan Azizah forced to resign either directly or indirectly, so Anwar could satisfy his “personal political ambition”.

“This proves that Anwar has no respect for his wife or women in elected office. They are getting the sore end of the a deal in PKR.

Wanita MCA: Anwar is a sexist

G Lavendran | September 21, 2013

Women wing deputy chief symphatises with PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail if indeed she is relinquishing her post to make way for her husband to enable him to gain political traction.

Yesterday, FMT reported that a PKR source had revealed that Wan Azizah would be stepping aside, giving way to Anwar in bid to stump the internal bickering and conflict.

Anwar ‘expects trouble’ over meeting with Pope

In a bid to head off potential controversy, Anwar Ibrahim has appealed to his constituents in Permatang Pauh to understand why he is meeting the Catholic Pope soon.

Without providing details, Anwar said he will be meeting Pope Francis I in Rome, but that he was not the one who had sought or planned for the meeting.

He has been invited to attend a high-level dialogue between Muslims, Christians and leaders of other faiths in Rome.

“The Pope has asked to meet with several delegates from the meeting, for a little discussion and I will be one of them,” he told a crowd of 300 at a ceramah in Kubang Semang, Penang, yesterday.

“There was no problem when Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak or former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad met the Pope,” he said.

“But if I do, it would (be seen as) a mistake. The difference is, I did not ask to meet him.”

‘Strip Anwar’s citizenship’

FMT Staff | May 13, 2013

Former Penang DCM Fairuz Khairuddin, now with Umno, wants a motion to be tabled in parliament to make Anwar stateless for causing chaos in the country.

PETALING JAYA: PKR’s former deputy chief minister in Penang, Fairuz Khairuddin, today called for Anwar Ibrahim’s citizenship to be stripped if the latter continues to cause chaos in the country.

Fairuz, a former close aide of Anwar, was quoted by Umno-Online today as saying that Anwar was a threat to the security of the nation following his mass rallies nationwide to protest against alleged electoral fraud.

“If Anwar continues to instigate the people to break and challenge the sovereignty of the country’s laws, the implication of which will be chaos, then a motion to strip him of his citizenship must be tabled in parliament,” Fairuz was quoted in the Umno mouthpiece.

Fairuz also suggested that Malaysia’s security and peace can be guaranteed without Anwar.

Fairuz was appointed as the Penang DCM 1 after the 2008 general election but he soon quit his post and party, citing personal issues. He then joined Umno in 2010.

Fairuz today said that a motion must be brought in the parliament to strip off Anwar’s citizenship if the latter “continues to break the laws by provoking and acting in seditious manner”.

He added that MPs must be brave to table such a motion as Anwar’s acts are detrimental to the safety and security of Malaysia.

“If Anwar continues to instigate the people to break the law which can lead to chaos and unrest, the motion to strip his citizenship must be tabled.

“This will ensure that the nation’s peace, safety and secutiry are protected…I am convinced Anwar will not stop instigating the people from breaking the law,” he added.

Dari Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim:

PRESS RELEASE
6 MAY 2013

The recently concluded 13th General Election was marred with unprecedented electoral frauds. Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak and the Election Commission had chosen to ignore the wishes of the rakyat at their own peril despite their earlier pronouncements towards free and fair election. This was despite massive popular support for the cause of clean and fair election.

Therefore, the Election Commission shall be held responsible for being complicit in the worst electoral frauds in our history. A fight for clean and fair election remains the single most important fight that any Malaysians should relate to. I will devote my time and utmost energy to work with BERSIH and the people of Malaysia to ensure that a newly constituted and independent Election Commission shall be in place as soon as possible to rectify the electoral frauds.

The fact that Pakatan Rakyat won the popular votes by a large margin (50.3%, compared to BN’s 46.8%) confirms the mandate given to us and highlights that electoral frauds won the 13th General Election for Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Our conscience cannot allow us to accept election results conjured through frauds and cheating. My heart is with every Malaysian who does not accept the results. I will work towards a national consensus to question the legitimacy of the BN’s government achieved through such electoral frauds.

The movement for change is unstoppable. The simple demand of the rakyat for a clean and fair election to ensure our elected government is accountable, transparent and incorruptible will continue to echo loudly in spite of the rigged 13th General Election.

I shall address the rakyat for the first time post the general election on Wednesday, 8 May 2013 at Kelana Jaya Stadium, at 830 pm. I call upon as many Malaysians to join hands and express our rejection and disgust at the unprecedented electoral frauds committed by Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak and the EC.

Anwar also insisted the demand for clean and fair elections would persist beyond Election 2013. “Our conscience cannot allow us to accept election results conjured through frauds and cheating,” he said in a statement here.

My work is not done yet, says Anwar

INTERVIEW PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim has said that he is not contemplating retirement from politics yet, as he believes that his work “is not done” in the Malaysian political arena after Pakatan Rakyat’s defeat in yesterday’s disputed polls.

Anwar, who has said that he does not accept the Election Commission’s (EC) results for the general election, where Pakatan managed to win 89 parliamentary seats but fell short of forming the federal government, said that he will need to “settle all the issues” regarding the polls results before evaluating his options.

He had previously said that he would consider retiring to a teaching job in Europe if Pakatan fails to attain power this elections.

“These elections have been stolen from us by Umno-BN. As far as I am concerned, we have won this election,” he told Malaysiakini during an interview at PKR headquarters today.

Anwar said that he and the other coalition party leaders from DAP and PAS will decide on the next course of action, which will probably involve petitions to the court to re-look into the results of some disputed seats.

“I have said that the issue of legitimacy (of the elections) is in question. There is evidence of clear fraud. There are constituencies where we have a case. We will not accept the results of these seats- about 30 to 40 of them. We are working on it,” said Anwar.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 ― The DAP is endorsing Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as Opposition Leader despite winning more seats than PKR in Election 2013, party advisor Lim Kit Siang said today.

The DAP won 38 federal seats in the country’s tightest election in history, making it the second-largest party in Parliament; PKR and PAS took 30 and 21 seats respectively.

“We supported him as prime minister for a Pakatan Rakyat (PR) government, which was supposed to be formed on the fifth of May,” Lim told reporters at the DAP headquarters here today.

“But since this didn’t come about, the preparation and commitment for Pakatan Rakyat remains. That’s why we propose that Anwar continues as parliamentary opposition leader and shadow prime minister,” added the DAP adviser.

Anwar to contest ‘stolen’ elections

May 6, 2013

He maintains that Pakatan Rakyat won the elections and that the Election Commission helped Barisan Nasional ‘steal’ it.

KUALA LUMPUR : Anwar Ibrahim said Monday Pakatan Rakyat planned to contest the results of a bitter weekend election battle and that the 56-year-old ruling bloc, which retained its grip on power, had “lost its legitimacy”.

“I today maintain we won the elections. The Election Commission is complicit in the crime of stealing the election from Malaysians,” Anwar told AFP in an interview.

“The government has lost its legitimacy.”

Members of Anwar’s Pakatan Rakyat opposition alliance were left bitter and despondent after a Sunday election that they hoped would end with a historic change of power but left them with only minimal gains.
