2 It was passed in Congress on 17 July 2017, still called Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act of 2019.

3.1 The bill passed by Congress sat in the Senate until the appearance of Covid-19.
3.2 Amendments were made to the original bill in response to Covid-19.
3.3 The amended bill provides FY2020 supplemental appropriations for federal agencies to respond to the Covid-19 outbreak.
3.4 By this time, the bill had been renamed Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act or the CARES Act.
3.5 Senate passed it on 25 March 2020.
