Perodua offers more affordable, quality cars

BIG TARGET: Aims to reduce overall cost of all its cars by 30pc by 2016

KUALA LUMPUR: PERUSAHAAN Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) has joined the bandwagon by offering cheaper and better cars.

The country’s top selling car maker, which sold 189,000 units last year, yesterday said it has started its first phase of cost reduction initiatives.

Its president and chief executive officer Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said the company had achieved 12 per cent cost reduction, just three per cent short of their target of 15 per cent, last year.

He said Perodua aimed to reduce the overall cost of all its cars by a whopping 30 per cent by 2016.

Aminar Rashid cited the enhancement of Perodua’s S-Series of the Myvi, Viva and Alza that saw the company offering a RM2,000 lesser on-the-road price, upgrade in specifications and a three-year free car service.
