Cops are probing a celebrity couple’s wedding reception which was in reported violation of Covid-19 SOPs.
This is after a video of the event went viral yesterday, showing those in attendance not wearing masks or practising physical distancing.
Bentong district police chief Zaiham Mohd Kahar said in a statement today that police will be tracking down every attendee at the wedding reception, said to be held at a villa in Genting Highlands.

BENTONG: Investigations are underway to track down individuals who failed to comply with Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) when attending the wedding of a celebrity couple in Genting Highlands near here on Dec 15.
The 41-second-video clip which was taken during the wedding showed a majority of guests were without face masks and mingling close to each other.
Bentong police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the department received a report on the incident at about 10.30pm yesterday.
“A video of the famous celebrity couple’s wedding ceremony held at a villa in Genting Highlands was uploaded onto Facebook. Investigations revealed the event was held at about 8.30pm on Dec 15.
“Some guests present at the event were not wearing face masks and did not practise social distancing. Police are in the midst of identifying and tracking down the individuals who were present at the wedding,” he said in a statement today.

It is learnt that some 200 people including top celebrities in the country had attended the wedding.
