JOHOR BAHRU – Police have confirmed that the Chinese died suddenly in Johor Bahru due to heart disease, not coronavirus infection.

Earlier this afternoon, an image of a policeman carrying a dead body of a Chinese man allegedly stunned into a four-wheel-drive vehicle.

The situation has caused some netizens to panic over the death of a mysterious virus from Wuhan, China, which is currently spreading.

Iskandar Puteri police chief Assistant Commissioner Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the incident happened yesterday at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex on the two-lane Malaysia-Singapore route.

“The 70-year-old from Singapore to Malaysia died while on the bus and was hospitalized for heart disease,” he said.

He also advised the public not to spread false information as it could cause further public concern during the current outbreak of coronavirus.
