Cop held for domestic violence
Arrest follows viral video showing policeman slapping wife at Felda beat base near Segamat.
PETALING JAYA: A policeman caught on video beating his wife at Felda Redong, Segamat, has been arrested, NST Online reported.
A woman had made the recording and then loaded it on her Facebook account on April 1. The video then went viral.
The video shows the wife, accompanied by an older woman, believed to be her mother, holding a baby and entering the Felda Redong police beat base.
A policeman, 29, is seen slapping the woman, aged 25, and screams are later heard inside the beat base.
Segamat district police chief Superintendent Kamil Sukarmi said the policeman will be transferred from the beat base to the state police contingent camp with immediate effect while the investigations are carried out.
