‘Lick the road’ bullies plead guilty
PETALING JAYA: Two teenagers and an underage teenager pleaded guilty in a magistrate’s court here to bullying two junior schoolmates by asking them to lick the road.
SPM leaver Tan Jze Keong, 18, college student Lim Boo Kean, 19, and the 17-year-old teenager changed their plea to guilty before magistrate Fadzlin Suraya Mohd Suah here on Thursday.
Sentencing was fixed for April 14 pending a report from the Welfare Department.
The three boys had claimed trial on Feb 5 to asking two male students aged 15 to kneel and lick the floor.
Six male youths, aged between 17 and 20, were arrested over the case.
Three juveniles pleaded guilty when they were all charged last month and sentenced on Thursday.
The sentence, however, was not revealed by the court because members of media were not allowed at the proceedings.

PETALING JAYA — A video of two teenagers being forced by bullies to lick the road is being circulated on social media.
The 35-second clip, which was posted on a Facebook page on Saturday, showed another secondary school student standing nearby.
Responding to a report, Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said six male youths, aged between 18 and 20, had been arrested over the case.
“We also seized six mobile phones belonging to them. They are under remand for three days until Thursday,” he said.
ACP Mohd Zani said investigations revealed that the victims were two 14-year-old students of a secondary school here.
“They were made to lick the road and bark like a dog by the suspects after being accused of taking a photograph of girls without permission,” he said, adding that the incident occurred during the last week of January.
The case is being investigated for intentionally causing hurt with a dangerous weapon and extortion.
