Police: No more traffic fine discounts
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19 ― Seasonal discounts will no longer be offered to traffic offenders, the police said today.
Bukit Aman traffic chief Mahamad Akhir also confirmed that the current RM300 compound fine for traffic offences will not be increased for now, after Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the police were considering a hike.
“We don’t encourage this seasonal offers. We don’t want Malaysians to have this waiting attitude, paying their summons only during offer seasons.
“If the offer comes say after two years of them being fined, then they will not pay for two years. So, no more such practices,” Mahamad told reporters here after attending a traffic awareness function at KL Sentral.

推特帳號名為@timothydavid5的網民是於昨日發推文，指稱他昨日前往吉隆坡交警總部繳還交通罰單時，柜台內一名女職員向他獻議以160令吉解決300令吉的罰款，不過收據上只列明100令吉繳費。
此推文引起不少網民爭議，有者批評卡立，也有人勸告投訴者報警助查，切勿只把社交媒體當作發泄情緒的管道。
然而他駁斥“既然卡立可以通過推特｀報案’，為何我不可以？” 無論如何，卡立較後已將該網民的推特截圖上載到推特，並下令警察網絡調查應對中心調查此事。
