The idea of a floating market along Kinta River can attract more tourists and create job opportunities. THE suggestion to introduce a floating market along the Kinta River at Kinta Riverfront in Ipoh has been warmly welcomed by the people.
The idea of the market, similar to the Khlong Hae floating market near Haadyai, was envisioned by Ipoh Datuk Bandar Datuk Roshidi Hashim during his recent visit to Thailand earlier this month.
While many were receptive to the idea of the floating market, they also felt that proper planning was essential and that the cleanliness of the river must be considered.
