Anwar, Kit Siang at KK Blackout 505 ceramah

Sabah BN government made no fuss and ‘allowed’ PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and DAP national advisor Lim Kit Siang into the state today.

PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Rakyat leaders Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang are in Kota Kinabalu attending a Blackout 505 ceramah tonight.

Fears that they would be barred from the state were unfounded.

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang arrived in Sandakan and Kota Kinabalu respectively earlier today with no fuss from the state immigration.

Lim, on arrival in Kota Kinabalu this morning, tweeted that he had “entered Sabah without fuss as it should be. Immigration autonomy for Sabah includes fundamental rights of Malaysians to enter for legitimate political activities.”

He later attended a Kaamatan Harvest festival celebrations with DAP elected reps in Ranau and is scheduled to join a Pakatan Blackout 505 ceramah in KK tonight.

Anwar meanwhile arrived in Sandakan at 4.25pm this evening. He was given an enthusiastic welcome by a group of Sabah PKR leaders.

Sabah PKR secretary Roland Chia told FMT in a text message that Anwar had entered safely. Now he is in Dewan Hakka Sandakan, later to KK at 8pm.”

Anwar was in Sandakan for a similar Blackout 505 function which began at 3pm. He later left to join Lim in the KK Blackout 505 ceramah.

Reports that both leaders would be barred from Sabah began circulating after Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah was banned on arrival in Sabah on May 30.

The Musa administration’s decision to bar her stemmed from reported fears that  the opposition may have been aiming extend their Black 505 rallies to East Malaysia.

DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang has had an hassle-free entry into Sabah today, despite the so-called travel ban on him and several others.

“Entered Sabah without fuss as it should be. Immigration autonomy for Sabah includes fundamental right of Malaysians to enter for legitimate political activities,” he tweeted at 10.35am, apparently after landing at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

Will Musa bar Anwar from Sabah?

Sabahans will know tomorrow if state secretary Sukarti Wakiman’s statement that there is “no permanent ban” on any other opposition leaders, is true.

PENAMPANG: Malaysia’s opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, whose daughter Nurul Izzah was deemed a “security threat” and barred from entering Sabah last week will himself test the waters when he arrives in Kota Kinabalu tomorrow.

He is expected to attend, as chief guest, a thanksgiving party by PKR members here.The party is being hosted by the PKR’s sole Sabah parliamentarian Darell Leiking.

Anwar, who is PKR de facto leader, is also scheduled to hold closed-door meetings with Pakatan Rakyat as well as Sabah PKR leaders. The meeting will include Pakatan’s 12 freshly-elected state and three parliamentary representatives
