Why my favourite place for roast duck, char siew, roast pork and roast chicken won’t allow dine-in on Monday, May the 4th.
1. Normally they have 9 tables. With social distancing, there will be 4 with 1 customer at each. Not much point.
2. Boss-woman and son run the place now, one cutting the meat and the other handing over the food and taking the money. Two more people would be required, one to record names and addresses, the other to serve and clear tables.
3. Washing up and disinfecting the place would take time.
4. Suppose one customer tested positive for Covid-19: They would be shut down for a month with no income at all. Why take that risk?
5. They’re doing alright now.
