It is highly likely to be fake.

SHOCKING⤵️

Japan’s professor of Physiology or Medicine, Professor Dr Tasuku Honjo, created a sensation in front of the media today by saying that the corona virus is not natural. if it is natural, it wudn’t hv adversely affected entire world like this. bcoz, as per nature, Temperature is different in different countries. if it is natural, it wud’ve adversely affected only those countries hvg same temperature as China. instead, It is spreading in a country like Switzerland, in the same way it is spreading in the desert areas. whereas if it were natural, it would hv spread in cold places, but died in hot places. I have done 40 years of research on animals and viruses. It is not natural. It is manufactured and the virus is completely artificial. I have worked for 4 years in the wuhan laboratory of China. I am fully acquainted w/all the staff of that laboratory. I have been phoning them all, aftr the Corona accident. but, all their phones r dead for last 3 months. It is now u/stood that all these lab technicians have died.

Based on all my knowledge and research till date, I can say this with 100% confidence that Corona is not natural. It has not come from bats. China has manufactured it. if what I am saying today is proved false now or even after my death, the government can w/draw my Nobel Prize. but China is lying and this truth will one day be revealed to everyone.’

Yes, I do have a comment. You say Tasuku Honjo said these things in front of the media. Which media? You say he created a sensation. What sensation? Show me the sensational media reports confirming that he said anything of this kind.

Because I can find nothing in the Japanese press about this, I can find nothing in the English-language press, nothing in any language except Hindi. Why is that? Has Dr. Honjo suddenly decided not to use Japanese or English or any other language, and to deliver his message only in Hindi? How extraordinary!

Dr. Honjo is frequently mentioned in the media here in Japan, and yet there is no report of him saying anything of this kind. The most recent mention of him in a major bilingual press organ appears to be in the Mainichi newspaper a week ago, where he stresses the need for proper procedures in order to fight the virus, but makes no claims about its origins.

As this report (in Hindi) states, Dr. Honjo has never been to Wuhan, he has never worked in Chinese labortories, and he did not make any statement claiming COVID-19 to be a manufactured virus: https://www.thelallantop.com/factcheck/fact-check-viral-post-claiming-japanese-nobel-laureate-tasuku-honjo-stated-coronavirus-originated-in-wuhan-lab-and-will-return-his-prize-if-wrong/

However, while the story relating to Dr. Honjo is fake, it was probably inspired by Nobel prizewinner Luc Montagnier. Unlike Honjo, Montagnier is on record stating that the virus was artificially made https://twitter.com/i/status/1251080850562834432).

If you had asked about that, at least you would have been asking about a real point of view, expressed by an established authority. If you want to know what I think about Montagnier, please read this account by the biologist Dr. Felix Bast, of the University of Punjab: https://medium.com/@felix.bast/luc-montagnier-and-covid-19-conspiracy-theory-90b768d4d470

He gives what seems to me to be a good refutation of Montagnier’s claims, and also gives some good hints on how to fact-check and identify fake news, skills which, despite your numerous degrees, you appear to be in need of!

[On another note, I have not finished my commentary on the video you sent me a link to, but I think my position is fairly clear from what I have already written; Shiva, like Montagnier, is on an anti-vaccine bandwagon, and making fake claims about the current pandemic suits the agenda of such people. Until and unless I have a lot more evidence I don’t believe a word of it.]
