Lovers bungle escape while fleeing vice squad in Malaysia

A pair of lovers in Malaysia drove their car into a ditch by mistake while trying to escape from a vice squad.

The man was injured in the incident, which took place at about 1am in Sungai Besar, Selangor, on Thursday, the New Straits Times reported.

The man, a Malaysian permanent resident, was spotted in the car with the woman. Their car was parked at a paddy field in a secluded area.

The pair were apparently so engrossed in each other that they were not aware of the patrolling volunteer vice group on motorcycles until it was near the car, a source said.

When the man became aware of the vice squad, he started the car and sped off.

One squad member was almost hit by the car after the group tried to stop the couple from escaping.

“It was believed that the patrolling team tried to move closer to the car, but upon reaching the Parit 1 Banat junction, the man lost control of the car and it plunged into the ditch,” the source said.

The man apparently has two wives who live in separate homes. His first wife is a stroke patient.

His second wife said she was shocked to receive a call at 2am, notifying her that her husband had been hospitalised.

She said of her husband’s alleged lover: “I do not know who that woman was. When I asked, he won’t answer. I am embarrassed, but what can I do?”
