Action against teachers found negligent in bullying incident
KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu education department will take stern action against teachers in a Besut school if they are found negligent in a bullying incident which went viral recently.
State Education, Science, Technology and Special Duties committee chairman Ghazali Taib said the committee would follow the standard operating procedure and the teachers would also be investigated.
“We will check to see why no religious teachers were around to monitor the situation,” he said when asked to comment on the bullying video which went viral on social media two days ago.

BESUT: Police have initiated investigations into a viral video depicting a school prefect being physically assaulted by his fellow students at the surau of a primary school here.
District police chief Superintendent Khaled Che Lah said the father of the victim lodged a report at the district police headquarters at 9am today.
He said police would use the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 to trace the originator of the video and interview the school authorities, as well as the schoolboys involved in the incident.
The six-minute video showed four schoolboys clad in sports attire, aged between 10 and 12 years, beating up the victim in reportedly at the surau of Sekolah Kebangsaan Panchor in Jerteh.
The video showed the bullies splashing liquid on the face of the weeping victim and humiliating him.
It was learnt that the incident was not the first suffered by the victim, who had pleaded with his parents to have him transferred to another school as he could no longer bear the bullying.
The bullies are also alleged to have demanded money from the victim frequently, failing which they would harass him, and had warned him not to report the matter to anyone.

Netizens outraged by viral video of bullied schoolboy
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov, 16, 2015:
A viral video of a primary school pupil being bullied has angered netizens.
The video posted by Friends of Barisan Nasional Facebook page yesterday, showed a pupil in brown uniform being assaulted by a group of pupils.
The six-minute clip supposedly recorded by one of the bullies, showed the boy being repeatedly taunted and beaten by a group of pupils in what appeared to be the school’s surau or prayer room.
According to the posting, the incident apparently occurred at a school in Besut, Terengganu.
In the video, the victim could be seen crying and was frightened by the group of bullies who repeatedly kicked and stomped on the victim’s neck, back and head.
The clip also showed the attackers hitting the victim with several object, spraying the victim with water and even dragging the boy across the floor by his leg.
The boy was also hit with what appeared to be a small hammer at the end of the video while the others were laughing and applauding.
