Nik Aziz rattles Putrajaya’s iron mosque
A video has surfaced showing the crowd at the mosque mobbing the venerated PAS leader and Putrajaya candidate Husam Musa, which some say signals the mood of change.
PUTRAJAYA: Masjid Besi or the iron mosque is an impressive structure in the administrative capital, which sits facing a lake and cuts a serene picture.
But this afternoon, a sense of euphoria swept through the building when revered PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat set foot in the mosque.
Known as Tok Guru, the ageing Muslim scholar was accompanied by his protege and PAS candidate for the Putrajaya parliamentary seat, Husam Musa.
A video on this has gone viral on Facebook, with some commentators suggesting that it signalled the possible defeat of the Barisan Nasional-Umno incumbent Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
The 41-second clip showed how the large crowd mobbed the PAS leaders while in the background, chants of Allahuakbar (God is great) rang out.
