Dear Everyone,

I have been quiet…because
I have spent 15 days in Hospital after undergoing a difficult, 7 hours Surgery, for massive Intestinal adhesions..on 25 March.

Much has happened during that period of my being in and out of sedation, and between pethadin shots.
Alhamdulillah..I am now home and recuperating.

But my mind has been continuously BOGGLED by many unbelievable events …triggered by the spectrum of human behaviour.. driven by utter stupidity, to unthinking approaches when saying and doing things, for public consumption.
I certainly do NOT want to unnecessarily stress my already stressful medical situation…but just to recap the ” antics of our larger -than – life Court Jesters of the land…who thought they would entertain us…with sick humour, such as..
….wives should be DORAEIMONS
….take warm water ..and the Covid virus will die ( as Trumpi said that the virus will die when the April sunshine comes)..

BUT there have been things happening, which are so disheartening, at it’s best and outright disgusting at its worst.
FIRST…
….the scrambling for all kinds of contracts …all in the cause of ” fighting the Pandemic”..

WHILE the dedicated Medical personnel and the various levels of Frontliners , helmed by the Director General of Health , are working with dedication to manage, curtail, and ease the Pandemic… complemented by our Security and Defence Personnel , and Local Level Enforcement and Field staff in various sectors…A NEW VIRUS has emerged …with the Credo being ” make hay while the Sun shines”…
This virus is virtually dormant in humans…AND BECOMES ACTIVE…when GREED and AVARICE suddenly see opportunities open up …through creative contracts for products and services…which can be foisted..through political leverage..on the Government…” as part of the effort in fighting Corona Virus..”
….middlemen and intermediaries appear everywhere there are opportunities ..
…”attack hounds “are used to put down those who insist doing things the RIGHT way..
….the worst of base human greed becomes unleashed..
HOW SAD!
The MACC should be more active now !!!

THEN as I was in the last few days of my Hospital stay , I read that several Heads and Board Members of GLCs and Government Statutory Bodies..were so speedily REMOVED from their Posts.. WITHOUT WARNING, NOTICE, or Recourse to normal procedures. One only had about 3 HOURS to clear her office( and being on lockdown, she was actually working from home)
They were all SUMMARILY REMOVED !

” Because they were appointed by the previous Government “

THIS IS A MOST ABSURD TURN OF EVENTS!

GLARINGLY, many of them happen to be of the Female Gender. All DOWN AT ONE GO.
NOW , I want to be very clear here.
DONT see them as “Women”.
They are competent individuals , who are Professionals, in their own right , who had their own good performance track records. It was a BONUS that they happened to be Women.

THEY were not filling any stupid ” Quota” .

Empowerment is NEVER in terms of ” Gender”…a competent Person is so, regardless of Gender, Creed or Faith.
It’s about abilities , competence, and capabilities.

The time has come for “EMPOWERMENT OF THE BETTER, OR THE BEST ” , in Malaysia.
Using Global Benchmarks and Standards.

Of course ,
EVERY APPOINTMENT is unavoidably , a ” political ” appointment.. BECAUSE the person / entity, that is making ANY appointment, especially in the Government and Related sectors, is doing so , at the behest , and authority , of the Government in power, at any point in Time ..namely, the current Politicians in Power.

What is DISGUSTING, is the manner that removals and appointment is done…which is the random, unwarranted , Removal / Replacement…mostly Mid – Contract, and mid term…of Competent individuals , who , for now, mainly happen to be Competent, Professional Women.

NO other reason was given , except that they were ” Political appointees”.
And NOT evaluated according to their Performance.. The ONLY excuse given was that , BECAUSE ” they were political appointees” of the previous Government , they must be replaced.

AND SO , apply the “vested interest rule” …We want “our own” people there…
Perhaps so they can do ” our biddings” ???
..especially when multi million Ringgit budgets and contracts ,are in the picture ???Forget Competence and value add to the Nation.

I feel sorry for our nation.
