MCMC raids M’kini, confiscates computers

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) raided the Malaysiakini office in Petaling Jaya and confiscated two computers today.

This is to facilitate investigations regarding a video uploaded on KiniTV in July which is being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, for alleged improper network use.

The video was of a press conference by former Batu Kawan Umno vice chief Khairuddin Abu Hassan.

During the press conference, Khairuddin had criticised attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali, demanding that he resign for refusing to prosecute in the 1MDB case.
