Scolding cop taken to task

PETALING JAYA: A policewoman who allegedly scolded a complainant is now under probe.

A video capturing her in the act went viral on social media on Tuesday and was viewed 340,000 times, garnering more than 3,400 likes.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari said police viewed the incident seriously and the policewoman would be transferred immediately.

“I can confirm the incident took place last Sunday at about 6pm at the traffic police counter in the district police headquarters.

“I have issued a directive to transfer out the policewoman with immediate effect so that she is no longer at the front desk,” he said.

ACP Mohammad Azlin urged all police officers and personnel to show good character and be patient when dealing with members of the public.

Viral video shows policewoman scolding complainant

PETALING JAYA: A traffic policewoman is being investigated after a video of her allegedly scolding a complainant went viral on social media.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari confirmed that the incident took place last Sunday at about 6pm at the traffic police counter at the district police headquarters.

He said police regarded the matter seriously and had opened disciplinary investigation papers on the incident.

In the meantime, the policewoman has been transferred out from her front-desk duties.

In a statement on Wednesday, ACP Mohammad Azlin advised police personnel to show good character and be patient when dealing with the public.

The video, which was more than minute long, shows a policewoman allegedly scolding a complainant trying to lodge a report at the counter.
