The rock formations at The Haven are said to be from the Permian Period. According to Prof. Dr. Bernard Pierson, Shell Chair in Petroleum Geosciences’ University Technology Petronas, the limestone hills that surround The Haven were deposited 280 million years ago.

You know that you are at the right place when you see this: the security hut and the security guard.
This is the main security check-point.
Security is a priority in Ipoh, where snatchers on their motorbikes abound.

It takes a couple of minutes, that’s all.

This is what happens when you exit. When you leave, the guard checks you out, too. Just to make sure you had been authorized to enter.
Notice that the bars are down.
All right, you have cleared security. There is a short drive in your car (but quite a long walk) of about 200 metres to a little roundabout.
As you approach the roundabout, you might notice the side road that runs parallel to the road you are on. That side road gives access to the Team Building area.

There it is, the roundabout!
From here, it is about 60 metres to the second security check-point where the guard, who was informed about you by the guard at the main security gate, checks you out.
By the way, the bars on the other side (for exit) are also down.
You will see signs that are sufficiently big and clear.
The Haven does its bit for recycling, too.

You arrive at the Hotel.
It’s close to Chinese New Year as you can see from the decorations.
The bell boy (concierge if you wish for a fanciful name) awaits you. There is also an Enforcement staff.
Next stop: Reception.

The lobby is practical but not small.
It is what lies beyond that is fascinating.
Walk right throigh the lobb7y…to the very end.
You will see the lake, surrounded by limestone hills. That white structure across the lake is the Amphitheatre.
This night scene shows much of the resort. Note the limestone rock at the back? That is Rockhaven, dated at more than 280 million years.
And there to the right is the 5-level Infinity swimming pool.
