Apologise for offending Johoreans, Nazri told https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/331630

Umno supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz not only offended Umno number two Muhyiddin Yassin when he likened Muhyiddin to a pesky dog, Pagoh Umno Youth said.
The tourism and culture minister’s remarks are also an affront to all Johoreans and warrants an open apology, Pagoh Youth chief Mohd Zaid Abdul Rahman said in a statement today.
“We don’t understand how a minister could utter such disgusting remarks. We believe he not only insulted and angered us, but also all Johoreans,” Mohd Zaid said.
…
Nazri had likened sidelined deputy president Muhyiddin to a dog which is nipping at Umno’s ankles, making it difficult for the party to fulfil its obligation.
…
Mohd Zaid added that despite being dropped from the cabinet, Muhyiddin never urged Pagoh Umno to work against Najib.
In fact, he said, Johor Umno Youth in the 2015 Umno general assembly urged an amicable resolution to the impasse, with Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin playing the peacemaker.
However, Nazri’s insults against the Pagoh Umno chief are the last straw.
“This marks the end of our patience,” he said.

Nazri to move motion to suspend Muhyiddin
PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz says he will propose the motion that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin be suspended as Umno deputy president during the party’s supreme council meeting on Friday.
Nazri, who is an Umno supreme council member, confirmed he would be raising the matter during the meeting, adding that it could be used as a formal complaint against Muhyiddin for “failing his duty” as deputy president of the party.
“I would like to refer him to the disciplinary committee for as long they are prepared to investigate him.
“I will also recommend that if he is found to be in breach of some sections of our (party) Constitution, that he be suspended,” Nazri told The Star Online.
Nazri, who is also Tourism and Culture Minister, emphasised that he wants Muhyiddin to be suspended and not sacked, as the former deputy prime minister was elected to the Umno No. 2 post.

Nazri tells Muhyiddin to step down as UMNO deputy president – http://tinyurl.com/hrywu37 via @Shareaholic

UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz on Monday asked Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to step down as UMNO deputy president if he could no longer discharge the responsibilities entrusted on him.
He said the UMNO Constitution clearly stated that the task of a deputy president was to assist the party president.
“It is an offence if the deputy president performs any act in contrary to his duties,” said Mohamed Nazri, who is also Minister of Tourism and Culture.
According to Mohamed Nazri, Muhyiddin was wrong in saying that UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor did not take action against him because there was no proof.

Umno branch chiefs brand Nazri a ‘bootlicker’
The group who call themselves GKCM accuse the Umno Supreme Council member of sucking up to Najib Razak for personal gain.
PETALING JAYA: The Coalition of Umno Branch Chiefs Malaysia (GKCM) today accused Umno Supreme Council member Nazri Aziz of being the bootlicker of Prime Minister and party President Najib Razak.
This after the Tourism and Culture minister said he would suggest to the party’s Supreme Council to suspend Muhyiddin Yassin as Umno deputy president if the latter refused to stop his attacks on Najib.
In slamming Nazri’s call, GKCM, in a statement, also claimed the Padang Rengas lawmaker did not want to be “last in line” when it came to licking the boots of the Umno president.
The anti-Najib group also described Nazri as a ‘pest’ in Umno, as his intentions were for personal gain, rather than to help develop the party.
“If we study the history of the Roman Empire, its downfall was because of corruption. Nazri’s actions are similar to that of Rome, bootlicking to achieve personal gain.”
The group also described Nazri as a “weak” minister in the Cabinet.
“There is nothing great about Nazri as a minister aside from bragging and making sure his children live in luxury. As a minister in Umno, Nazri does not have any privileges.”

TANJONG KARANG: UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz today asked Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to step down as UMNO deputy president if he could no longer discharge the responsibilities entrusted on him.
“Before the last UMNO General Assembly, he (Muhyiddin), along with former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad organised a meeting to bash UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
“Now, he still questions issues such as on the RM2.6 billion donation which case was announced closed by the Attorney-General, and the issue on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), which is still being investigated by the Public Accounts Committee,” he told reporters during a working visit here today.
All these, he said, clearly showed that Muhyiddin was not with the party president, and that his actions should not be sanctioned.
“Muhyiddin also no longer performs the tasks as expected by delegates who voted for him for the post,” he added.
