Aunt behind baby kidnap

MALACCA: An aunt of a newborn is allegedly behind the kidnapping of the baby boy in Taman Kota Laksamana.
The child’s 24-year-old aunt, who manages a tuition centre, and her 25-year-old husband, have been arrested.
The other suspects nabbed were two 21-year-old women who work at the centre, said police.
Police said the couple were on the baby’s paternal side.

DCP Chuah said police nabbed the suspects as the RM200,000 ransom was about to be handed over by the baby’s 28-year-old father, who is a contractor.
The kidnappers had demanded RM300,000 but the amount was reduced after negotiation, he said.
Police believe the couple kidnapped the baby because of financial problems.

Melaka: Empat individu ditahan termasuk suami isteri yang juga saudara kandung bapa bayi diculik Selasa lalu yang dipercayai dalang penculikan di Taman Kota Laksamana.
Pasangan terbabit masing-masing berusia 24 dan 25 tahun, ditahan di dua lokasi berasingan pada 10.30 malam hingga 11.30 malam.
Ketua Polis Melaka, Datuk Chuah Ghee Lye berkata, tangkapan pertama dilakukan ke atas wanita berusia 24 tahun yang juga adik ipar kepada bapa mangsa yang ditahan bersama dua lagi wanita dipercayai pekerjanya berusia 21 tahun, selepas ibu bapa mangsa menyerahkan wang tebusan RM200,000 kepada suspek pada 10.30 malam tadi di pusat tuisyen di Taman Gadong Perdana, di sini.
“Susulan tangkapan itu, polis menyerbu kediaman keluarga mangsa di Taman Kota Laksamana dan menahan lelaki berusia 25 tahun yang juga adik kepada bapa mangsa untuk membantu siasatan.
“Kita percaya penculikan ini bermotifkan masalah kewangan yang dihadapi suami isteri terbabit,” katanya.

Newborn baby rescued from kidnappers in Malacca
MALACCA: A newborn baby who was kidnapped here has been reunited with his family, according to police.
Police rescued the 12-day-old baby boy from the clutches of his abductors during a raid at house in Pulau Gadong.
Malacca police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Wira Chuah Ghee Lye expressed his delight that the child was unharmed and had been reunited with his family on the same day he was rescued.
DCP Chuah is expected to hold a press conference later Thursday to reveal more details over the case.
It is learnt that three female suspects were detained in the raid that ended at midnight.

12-day-old baby snatched from home
MALACCA: A 12-day-old baby boy has been kidnapped by a stranger from his home in Kota Laksamana.
The woman entered the home at about 6.30pm on Tuesday and snatched the baby who was resting in his cradle at the living room while the mother was taking a nap in her room.
The baby-sitter, a foreigner, was preparing milk when the incident occurred.
Neighbours who witnessed the episode did not suspect anything amiss until they heard the 20-year-old mother screaming that her baby had gone missing.
Malacca police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Wira Chuah Ghee Lye said police had started search for the baby.
