SIA confirms bomb threat on flight from San Francisco

Police said security checks found nothing suspicious on board the plane that carried 267 passengers.
“The police conducted security checks and nothing suspicious was found on the plane or its passengers. We thank the passengers for their cooperation and understanding,” said a police statement.
The police said they are investigating into the source of the bomb threat, adding that they take a “very stern view against anyone who attempts to cause public alarm or fear by spreading hoaxes or false information”.

SINGAPORE — Singapore Airlines has confirmed that there was a bomb threat concerning flight SQ001, which originated from San Francisco and arrived at Changi Airport this afternoon.
In a media statement, SIA said that the matter was referred to the authorities. “We regret we are unable to provide details, as it concerns security,” it said.
The plane landed safely at approximately noon, but disembarkation was delayed until around 1.30pm. Passengers then had to wait for nearly two hours to collect their baggage.
Passengers were calm, although not much information was given by the airline, one of them told TODAY.

SINGAPORE – The Straits Times understands that a Singapore Airlines flight from San Francisco via Hong Kong was delayed at Changi Airport for several hours after landing after a bomb threat was made against the aircraft.
The flight, SQ1, landed at noon on Sunday (Nov 22), but passengers were reportedly only allowed to disembark at 2pm.
Police vehicles were seen on the tarmac.
The airline confirmed that a bomb threat was made against the flight, and that the matter was referred to the authorities. It said that it could not provide further details as it concerns security.
