PETALING JAYA: Najib Razak today said he will take legal action against Perikatan Nasional’s Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard, over a video he posted last week.

Najib took offence to a posting on Badrul’s Facebook account, which referenced a 2013 speech in which the then prime minister was alleged to have asked, “What more do the Chinese want?”

“There is no need to waste time on individuals who fail to distinguish media headlines from what I actually said. I will sue,” Najib said on Facebook.

He challenged Badrul to identify where exactly he said those words in the media reports that ran the story.

“He (Badrul) can read the media articles line by line in court to identify where I used those words,” he said.

In the Facebook post last Friday, Badrul linked a video of Najib’s speech at the Penang International Business and Investment Summit earlier in the day, where the former prime minister denied saying the words.

The video showed an image of an Utusan Malaysia report alleging that Najib did in fact utter the words.

Badrul went on to claim that Najib had “lied” and “lost his memory”, citing how not only Utusan but several other news portals carried the story.

JUST IN@NajibRazak has denied that he ever said “apa lagi Cina mahu” after the 2013 general election, almost a decade ago.

“I repeat that I have never and will never say those words which I deem are very insensitive and arrogant. That is simply not me.”

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hari ini menyalahkan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak berhubung penyiaran laporan kontroversi Utusan Malaysia berjudul “Apa lagi Cina mahu?” di muka depan akhbar itu.

“Dia ikut arahan dari Datuk Najib sebab pertama, Utusan itu surat khabar Umno,” kata bekas ketua pembangkang dalam sidang media di Petaling Jaya.

“Kedua, saya tahu sebab masa saya timbalan presiden Umno, presiden Umno mempunyai pegawai yang boleh memberi arahan harian kepada Utusan.

Anwar berkata, penyiaran artikel di akhbar Umno itu juga bertentangan dengan ikrar BN yang mahu menganjurkan penyatuan nasional selepas fenomena pilihan raya yang digelar mereka sebagai “tsunami Cina”.
