Top 10 achievements by PN backdoor government. We are not talking about health minister asking us to drink warm water to purge Covid-19 virus or higher education minister wants our youth to be TikTokers. We are talking about serious institutional cracks.
Here are the 10 cases:
1) After PN became backdoor government, the family members of Jalil Rasheed were harassed, led to his resignation from Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB). Jalil relocated back to Malaysia from Singapore to serve as CEO at PNB.
2) Dr Narimah Awin was removed from the chairpersonship of National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), replaced by Umno MP Mohd Nizar Zakaria.
Dr Narimah was regional advisor for maternal and reproductive health at the World Health Organization. Mohd Nizar is Umno politician.
3) PN-appointed attorney general Idrus Harun filed an application to launch contempt of court proceedings against Malaysiakini over reader comments on a story.
4) Cynthia Gabriel from Center to Combat Corruption and Cronyism was investigated by police because she urged Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the horse-trading allegations and possible payoffs among MPs.
5) Former deputy minister for women, family and community development, Hannah Yeoh was investigated by police for asking for update on child marriage prevention effort.
6) Independent human rights lawyer Eric Paulsen was expelled from Communications and Multimedia Consultative Council.
7) Tan Sri Musa Aman was freed from all 46 criminal charges linked to timber concessions contracts when he was Sabah’s chief minister.
8) Najib’s stepson Riza Aziz granted discharge over US$248m money laundering charges.
9) Former Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Samad was acquitted from criminal breach of trust (CBT) charge over the hotel purchase for RM160 million without the approval of the Felda Board of Directors.
10) Foreign investors pulled out RM523.8 million net of equities from Malaysia in early June 2020, about half of the total RM1.15 billion net withdrawn previously.
