PUTRAJAYA: A Pakistani barber found to be Covid-19 positive had offered hair cutting services privately and come into contact with 40 people, the health ministry said.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said initial investigation showed the barber’s shop in the Titiwangsa area had not been operating since the movement control order (MCO) began on March 18.
“However, he has been cutting hair on private request and giving hair cutting services from house to house,” he said at his daily press briefing here today.
Noor Hisham said the Titiwangsa Health Department received notification of the barber’s infection from a private hospital on June 11.
He said the 40 close contacts are undergoing quarantine.
