Prince sends ‘Mat Tere’ home in royal car

Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Ibrahim sent home Mat Tere, a man arrested over alleged remarks against the prince, in a vehicle driven by the royal chauffeur.
The Kelantanese, known as ‘Mat Tere’, was released yesterday after the prince intervened and vouched for his innocence.
The prince said Mat Tere, or his full name Muhammad Zul Apiz Baharum, 29, was tricked into making the remarks against Tunku Ismail by those with a “political agenda”.

HRH Brigadier General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor, was at IPK Johor to call for the release of Mat Tere, whose remand was supposed to be extended before being sent back to Kelantan. His Royal Highness believes Mat Tere is innocent and has been victimised by individuals of higher ranks due to political agenda. His Royal Highness congratulated the Kelantan state government for taking care of the people and being aware of individual with an intent to divide the people. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

Man held over offensive remark about TMJ
Police today detained a man believed to be responsible for making offensive remarks about Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim on Facebook.
Johor police chief Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd was quoted in Bernama saying the 29-year-old man was detained at about 3.50pm in front of a hotel in Jalan Pendek, Kota Baru, Kelantan, following a police report on the matter yesterday.
“Johor Police Contingent received a report at 1.35pm yesterday about the spread of a video recording on Facebook which showed a man making offensive remarks about Tunku Mahkota Johor.
“Spreading such a video is something which can threaten the harmony and well-being of the people,” he said in a statement tonight.
