PETALING JAYA: Former Malaysian attache to New Zealand Muhammed Rizalman Ismail has been deported back to the country after completing his nine-month home detention for indecently assaulting a New Zealander.
According to the New Zealand Herald’s online edition, nzherald.co.nz, the 39-year-old was escorted from Wellington to Kuala Lumpur by two New Zealand police officers last night.
“A spokesman for Justice Minister Amy Adams said Adams issued a removal order to send Rizalman back to Malaysia under the Extradition Act,” the portal reported.
Rizalman had last year pleaded guilty to indecent assault on Tania Billingsley in her Wellington home on May 9, 2014.

Ex-defence attache gets 9 months’ detention for NZ sex assault
“You terrorised Billingsley… She was a young woman, alone in her room, who was entitled to feel safe and secure in her bedroom,” Judge David Collins told Rizalman during sentencing.
“No woman should have to endure the terrifying circumstances experienced by Billingsley when you breached the sanctity of her bedroom.”
Collins said Rizalman’s actions were “premeditated”, however, Billingsley was not touched in a sexual way and Rizalman had hoped she would agree to sex.
“You mistook a smile for a sexual advance, you deliberately followed her and waited outside her home for a long period of time,” the judge said.
