UPSR question with racist undertone is fake, says Education Ministry http://dlvr.it/MClJwk
PETALINGA JAYA: The Education Ministry has dismissed as fake a question with racist connotation in this year’s Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) and which has since been widely circulated on social media.
It said in a statement that the Examinations Syndicate has conducted an investigation into the matter and found that the question did not appear in this year’s UPSR examination.
The ministry said it was disappointed that such an incident has occurred.
It said that all questions in every exam paper by the syndicate undergo an evaluation process to ensure it fulfils the syllabus and meets the objectives of the subject.
“The Examinations Syndicate places a heavy emphasis on racial harmony and unity, especially in the context of its examination questions.”

Kamalanathan calls for police investigation following fake UPSR question leak
PETALING JAYA: Deputy Education Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan has urged the police to investigate a fake question with a racist connotation that allegedly appeared in this year’s Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) and which has been widely circulating across social media.
In a statement issued via Facebook on Wednesday, Kamalanathan dismissed the question as fake following an investigation by the Examination Syndicate which concluded that the question did not appear in the UPSR examinations this year.
“I am very disappointed and angry that certain irresponsible parties have started circulating a question which doesn’t exist in the UPSR examination.
“It is claimed the question was from this years examination paper. Such lies and slander have very dark motives and are reprehensible by nature,” he said.
