Teacher to sue policemen for breaking his arm after being mistaken for drug addict

By Seri Nor Nadiah Koris – 6 September 2016 @ 10:46 PM

IPOH: A primary school teacher from Lenggong is set to take legal action against two policemen who broke his left arm after suspecting him of being a drug addict.
It is understood that the incident happened over the weekend as the teacher, Sheikh Ashrof, was returning home at night after providing extra lessons for his pupils in preparation for the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) exams.
As he was walking home, he spotted two men in plainclothes, wearing motorcycle helmets, approaching him.
Thinking that they were thugs, the teacher decided to run, but was caught. It turned out that the men were undercover policemen attached to the anti-narcotics department.
Despite protesting that he was not a drug addict, the policemen roughly handcuffed him. It is understood that he broke his arm in the process.
He was then taken to a nearby police station. There, he asked policemen to ring the headmaster of his school to verify his identity.
After being summoned, the headmaster came to the police station to explain the situation and the teacher was eventually released.
It is learnt that the headmaster brought him to the hospital to treat his injuries.Read More : http://www.nst.com.my/news/2016/09/171318/teacher-sue-policemen-breaking-his-arm-after-being-mistaken-drug-addict
