Not up to you or PM whether Johor exits M’sia, crown prince told

It is up the people of Johor – not the prime minister or the Yang Dipertuan Agong – whether or not Johor should succeed from Malaysia, said the former editor of the Malay Mail, Ahirudin Attan.

Ahirudin added he has yet to meet any Johorean who wants to see this happen.

The former editor said this in response to a Facebook post from Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim last Wednesday, where his majesty remarked that those who were jealous of the state, should ask the prime minister to remove Johor from Malaysia.

Ahirudin said he found Tunku Ismail’s remarks both funny and disturbing at the same time.

“Well, it is not really up to Prime Minister Najib Razak to kick Johor out of this beloved country, even if the prime minister agrees with those jealous critics of Bangsa Johor.

“Neither is it up the Yang Dipertuan Agong, a position the (crown prince) would one day assume, God willing.

“The ones to decide will be the people. The Johoreans. And I have not met a single Johorean who wants his state to be axed from his country, Malaysia, even after the (crown prince’s) posting.

“Maybe I need to linger near the palaces to find one!” he said in a posting on his blog Rocky’s Bru today.

Tell PM to axe Johor from Malaysia if unhappy, crown prince tells critics

KUALA LUMPUR — Critics dissatisfied with Johor’s administration can simply propose to the prime minister to expel the southern state from the federation, the state’s crown prince Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said.

In a scathing post on the Johor Southern Tigers’ Facebook page on Tuesday (May 31) night, Mr Ismail came out with a laundry list of criticisms faced by the state from “certain parties” whom he alleged to be envious of the public support towards the state royal family and the government.

“Should any of you are uneasy with Johor Darul Ta’zim being in Malaysia, you can all march down to Putrajaya and propose to the Prime Minister to remove the State of Johor from Malaysia,” he wrote in the post entitled “Do not blame Johor because of your jealousy”.

Starting each sentence with “don’t blame Johor…”, Mr Ismail said Johoreans should not be accused of obsession towards the Sultan and crown prince who are always supportive their people.

“Don’t blame Johor if your leaders are not there with you… The difference between our leaders and yours is that our leaders were born to serve the people.

“Don’t blame Johor why we don’t like people who are corrupt? It’s because we brought up never to be as despicable as that.

“Don’t blame Johor if your leaders are not there with you when the country is plagued with integrity turmoil. We are proud to have leaders who will always fight for our rights and will always be transparent with us,” he wrote.

JANGAN SALAHKAN NEGERI JOHOR KERANA SIFAT CEMBURU ANDA

DO NOT BLAME JOHOR BECAUSE OF YOUR JEALOUSY

Don’t blame Johor and Why are we proud to be Johoreans? It’s because we have existed since 1885 well before your formation in the 1957.

Don’t blame Johor For being proud to be Johoreans, because we weren’t built on the foundations of racism. We were built on the foundation that we are united and identified as one race that is Bangsa Johor.

Don’t blame Johor Why are we proud of our leaders, because our leaders are always with us in good times and bad, when we’re in joy or in pain.

Don’t blame Johor Why we don’t like people who are corrupt? It’s because we brought up never to be as despicable as that.

Don’t blame Johor And accuse us of being obsessed with HRH Crown Prince of Johor because we have witnessed for ourselves how he has always stood firmly by our side..

Don’t blame Johor be envious of the relationship we have with our leaders because.. Only he has been tirelessly brave enough to continue to fight and guarantee our existence and welfare.

Don’t blame Johor If your leaders are not there with you.. The difference between our leaders and yours is that our leaders were born to serve the people.

Don’t blame Johor If your leaders are not there with you when the country is plagued with integrity turmoil. We are proud to have leaders who will always fight for our rights and will always be transparent with us.

Don’t blame Johor If your leaders are not there in your own state for you to turn to in your time of need.

This is a note from HRH Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, The Crown Prince of Johor to those people who are uneasy with the State of Johor.

“Should any of you are uneasy with Johor Darul Ta’zim being in Malaysia, you can all march down to Putrajaya and propose to the Prime Minister to remove the State of Johor from Malaysia.”
