JOHOR BARU: More than 39,154 reminder notices for failing to adhere to the separation-at-source waste disposal method have been issued by SW Corporation (SWCorp) to errant households in the state since Sept 1 last year.

SWCorp Johor director Asri Amat said the figure was recorded from the 126,210 premises checked by the department after they sent out a total of 559,297 flyers on the newly implemented programme, which would officially start on June 1, 2016.

He said that the reminder notices were given to those who have not been adhering to the ruling for a better environment and also to lengthen the life span of the landfills here.
