‘Don Tiger’ caught in police dragnet, party drug seized
A ‘tiger’ in the net.
A thug nicknamed ‘Don Tiger’, who fired several shots as he crashed his car through two police-mounted roadblocks in Jalan Kampar on Wednesday, ended up in a police dragnet today.
In a raid at Taman Cempaka in Ipoh, a police team nabbed the 27-year-old suspect and seized a plastic packet containing 12.2 grammes of the party drug, methamphetamine.
The suspect, who had three previous criminal records was picked up while trying to escape in a car, said Ipoh police chief ACP Sum Chang Keong.
He said ‘Don Tiger’ was remanded for five days to facilitate investigations.

Man who rammed through two roadblocks and knocked down cop nabbed
IPOH: The man who opened fire at the police, rammed two through roadblocks and knocked down a traffic policeman during a chase on Wednesday has been nabbed.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong said the 27-year-old suspect from Tanjung Rambutan was arrested at 12.15am Friday.
He said a police team arrested the suspect at Taman Cempaka near here.
“During the arrest, we found 12.2g of methamphetamine drugs wrapped in a transparent plastic on him.
“The suspect has been remanded for further investigations,” he said.

On Tambun Road, he abandoned his car abd ran off into secondary jungle.

Hunt on for man who rammed cops
IPOH: The hunt is on for a man who opened fire at police, rammed through two roadblocks and knocked down a traffic policeman during a chase.
OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong said the suspect, driving a red Proton Satria Neo, first rammed through a police roadblock in Jalan Sultan Nazrin Shah at 3pm yesterday.
“He was then chased towards Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah where he again rammed through another roadblock,” ACP Sum told journalists.
“Four police motorcycles gave chase. The suspect opened fire and police retaliated in self-defence,” he said, adding that police had not received any reports of anyone getting shot.
“We managed to hit and puncture his tyre as the chase led to Kampung Baru Tambun. He abandoned his car and fled on foot towards the jungle near there.”
ACP Sum said a traffic policeman who was knocked down during the car chase has been hospitalised.
The 26-year-old lance-corporal was chasing the suspect when the suspect swerved and knocked down the policeman’s motorcycle.

Gunman shoots at cops, flees into jungle
Police are hunting a man who rammed a roadblock on Jalan Sultan Nazrin Shah yesterday afternoon and then fired on officers during the ensuing chase.
The Star Online reported that a man in a red Proton Satria Neo rammed the roadblock at 3pm.
“He was then chased towards Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah where he again rammed through another roadblock,” said Ipoh police chief Sum Chang Keong.

“We managed to hit and puncture his tyre as the chase led to Kampung Baru Tambun. He abandoned his car and fled on foot towards the jungle near there,” he said, adding that no one was injured in the exchange of gunfire but a lance-corporal from the traffic department was knocked off his motorcycle during the chase and taken to hospital.
“We have deployed our K9 unit and officers from the serious crimes unit. We are combing the jungle. We found some car spare parts in the suspect’s car but no weapons,” he said.
“We are checking on the car registration number.” – December 3, 2015.
