Foreigner apprehended after 60km high speed chase

KUALA LUMPUR: A foreigner who stole his employer’s lorry left a trail of destruction after he led police on a 60km high speed chase from Sentul to Dengkil today.

Sentul police chief ACP R. Munusamay said the man who has permanent resident status was spotted by police patrolmen at Jalan Sentul at about 1.40am and ordered to pull over.

He said on seeing this, the suspect sped off towards Middle Ring Road II and headed to Sungai Buloh with police on his trail.

He said the patrolmen alerted their colleagues and several other police cars joined in the chase when the suspect refused to adhere to orders to stop.

The suspect who crashed into the police cars and several vehicles then sped towards Kelana Jaya and Puchong before heading towards Sepang.

Police said several workers carrying out road works also cheated death when the suspect nearly crashed into them after hitting traffic cones.

Police nabbed suspect following a high speed chase

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested a man for allegedly trying to steal his employer’s lorry following a high speed chase from Jalan Sentul here to Dengkil toll plaza in Selangor earlier today.
…“Several gunshots were fired towards the tyres to stop the lorry. Despite the punctured tyres, the suspect refused to stop.

Munusamy said the 42 km high-speed chase ended when the lorry made a sudden stop at the junction heading towards Dengkil.

“The lorry stopped believed due to the damages incurred during the chase or it was out of petrol. The suspect had acted aggressively when he was approached by the police and it took several policemen to detain him,” he said, adding that the suspect was believed to be high on drugs.

The suspect, from Alor Star sustained nose injuries and bruises on his forehead in the incident.
