JAYAPURA, Indonesia (AFP) – The bodies of all 54 people who were on board a plane that crashed in remote eastern Indonesia at the weekend were found on Tuesday at the crash site, an official said.
“There are no survivors. All fifty-four bodies have been found,” transport ministry spokesman J.A. Barata told AFP.

There was no news on the fate of 6.5 billion rupiah (S$650,000) that was being transported by the plane in cash, intended for distribution to poor families as social assistance funds.

PLANE TRANSPORTING 6.5 BILLION RUPIAH
The missing plane was transporting about 6.5 billion rupiah (US$470,000) in cash to distribute to poor families in the eastern province, a post office official said.
“Four of our personnel were escorting the funds,” said Haryono, the head of Jayapura post office. The money was in four bags, he added.

Rescue officials say a search plane has spotted the wreckage of an Indonesian passenger plane that went missing with 54 people onboard.
There was no immediate word if there were any survivors from the crash, which happened in bad weather on Sunday in Indonesia’s mountainous easternmost province of Papua.
Officials said the wreckage was spotted about 12 kilometers (7 miles) from its destination of Oksibil.

Metrotvnews.com, Jayapura: Upaya Tim Search and Rescue mencari pesawat Trigana Air menemui titik terang. Pagi ini, Tim SAR yang berangkat menggunakan pesawat milik Aviation Mission Association (AMA) melihat puing di sekitar air terjun Oksop, Kabupaten Pegunungan Bintang, Papua.
Puing tersebut diduga bagian dari pesawat Trigana Air yang hilang kontak sejak Minggu 16 Agustus. Hingga saat ini belum ada penjelasan resmi dari pihak SAR dan Trigana Air terkait temuan tersebut.

The wreckage of an Indonesian plane carrying 54 people has been found in the remote Papua region, officials say.
The Trigana Air flight left the regional capital Jayapura for Oksibil in the south at 14:21 local time (05:21GMT), but lost contact with ground control.
Indonesia’s transport minister told reporters the aircraft had been found in the Bintang highlands region of Oksibil.
It is not yet known if anyone survived.
The wreckage was found by villagers, who told officials it had crashed into a mountain.

BREAKING NEWS: Indonesian aircraft carrying 54 people goes missing

Indonesian search and rescue agencies are hunting for a passenger plane that went missing in bad weather over the remote eastern region of Papua, with 54 people on board.
The plane, flight number TGN267, failed to arrive at its destination of Oksibil after contact was lost with the plane, according to the National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS).
According to the agency’s official Twitter account the domestic aircraft, belonging to the Indonesian Trigana Air Service, was carrying 44 adult passengers, five crew and five children and infants.
But the search efforts are being hindered by stormy weather over the mountainous and remote region, and have been suspended until the morning.
