Police probe attempt to burn DAP office in Sabah
Sunday, 15 Oct 2017
KOTA KINABALU: Police are investigating an arson attempt at the office of Sabah DAP women’s chief Jannie Lasimbang.
Penampang police chief Deputy Supt Rosley Hobden confirmed the report and said they will investigate the matter.
This follows a statement by Lasimbang, who said that the Sunday afternoon incident at her Donggonggon service centre happened when she was not in the office.
She said that the fire was detected by DAP member Addy Samsuddin.
“Addy was resting there when he smelt smoke at around 1.30pm,” she said.
She said he went out to check and saw a burning envelope and a box of matches pushed under the door.

For the fifth time, Komtar assemblyperson Teh Lai Heng found that vandals had given his service centre in Jalan Talipon, George Town, a ‘paint job’. In the latest incident early this morning, the vandals who splashed the centre with black paint also tried to set it ablaze.
Previously, the premises had served as the venue for the Penang DAP headquarters. Teh said he was only aware that paint was splashed at his centre when he opened its office this morning.
“I was shocked to see my office once again splashed with paint by vandals. Traces of black paint and plastic bottles with burn marks were also found in front of the office.
