Ipoh : Seramai kira-kira 80 pelajar sebuah kolej swasta di sini, mendakwa diri mereka teraniaya akibat terpaksa menanggung bebanan pinjaman dan tidak dapat menghabiskan pembelajaran selepas kolej mereka ditutup dan pihak pengurusan menghilangkan diri.

Menurut seorang pelajar S Dorairaj, 25, dia mendaftar dalam kursus Mekatronik di kolej berkenaan pada 2013, namun ketika selesai latihan praktikal dan ingin kembali semula ke kolej pada pertengahan Oktober tahun lalu ia didapati sudah ditutup.

IPOH: Forty-six students of a private institution here have been left in the lurch when their college closed down last year.

The final year diploma students, who had enrolled in their Mechatronics course since 2013 are upset that the management had shut down the college in October last year.

The students then lodged three police reports at the district police headquarters today.

Mechatronics student S. Dorairaj, 25 said students are now contemplating on how to pay back the RM32, 000 loans from the Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (PTPK).

He said that some of the students’ parents who are guarantors have been backlisted.

“We want the college to declare bankruptcy. Our loans are insured and if they do declare bankruptcy then the insurance company will have to pay PTPK,” he said.
