Three parang-wielding men stormed the office of a Tamil daily in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
Tamil Malar managing editor SM Periasamy said the men, wearing full-faced helmets, entered the office in Jalan Ipoh at about 11AM.

Man creates a ruckus at Tamil newspaper office
Thinakural owner Aruun Kumarr lodges a police report after the unidentified man turned abusive when his demand for the newspaper’s printing permit was refused
PETALING JAYA: A local Tamil daily, lodged a police report after a man created a ruckus at paper’s office in Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur.
The report was lodged by Thinakural owner K Aruun Kumarr on Friday at the Sentul district police station.
Based on the report which was forwarded to FMT, at about 7.30pm on Friday, an Indian man wearing full-faced black colour helmet entered the office and asked for Aruun Kumarr.
Aruun who was in the office at the time, asked the man to identify himself and why he was looking Aruun.
The man refused to identify himself and demanded that Thinakural’s newspaper permit be handed over to him.
When Aruun declined, the man started hurling derogatory words against the former and also threw a beer bottle in the direction of the receptionist. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Aruun said he lodged a police once the man left. “I felt threatened and fear for for the safety of my family and my paper,” he told FMT.
However, he refused to elaborate further about the incident, saying: “Let the police investigate and find out who is behind the incident.”

Meditation centre to sue Tamil daily
PETALING JAYA: Following an accusation by a Tamil daily yesterday, a well known meditation group said that it will take legal action against the newspaper for allegedly criticising its founder.
Rajayoga Power Transcendental Meditation Centre’s (RPT) managing director, known as Dr Komala was reported by Malaysian Nanban saying that she will file the suit against those who disparage the group’s founder V Balakrishnan, with ‘conjectures and unverified facts’.
When FMT checked on the matter, a source close to RPT confirmed that the meditation centre will take legal action against Tamil Malar.
“We are really disappointed with the daily for carrying a false report which has tarnished RPT’s image among the public,” said the source, who declined to named.
Yesterday, Tamil Malar managing director SM Periasamy lodged a police report against RPT after several people, claiming to be Balakrishnan’s followers, created a ruckus at the newspaper’s office in Jalan Ipoh.
It came about following Tamil Malar’s report against Balakrishnan the day before. The RPT founder subsequently came under heavy fire from social media users.
Balakrishnan, who is also known as ‘Datuk Seri Guruji’, conducts Yoga programmes on how to harness spiritual energy( Dr Komalai) for material and spiritual benefits.

Police report against Datuk Seri Guruji’s supporters
KUALA LUMPUR: Local Tamil daily, Tamil Malar, lodged a police report today against a well-known meditation group after several people, claiming to be its followers, created a ruckus at the newspaper’s office in Jalan Ipoh.
Tamil Malar managing director, SM Periasamy, lodged the report against the Rajayoga Power Transcendental Meditation Center Sdn Bhd, or better known as RPT, at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.

Periasamy said that Tamil Malar carried a news report against Balakrishnan and his group on Tuesday. Following the report, four men barged into the Tamil daily’s office yesterday.
The group, claiming to be Balakrishnan’s followers, called for the Tamil daily to tender an apology for the news report.
“I was shocked when they just barged into my office. They spoke rudely to my staff, hurling derogatory words against us,” Periasamy told FMT.
He added that the men demanded the Tamil daily surrender any evidence that may be detrimental to Balakrishnan or risk having a police report lodged against Tamil Malar.
“But I refused to entertain their request. The men backed out after I threatened to lodge a police report against them,” said Periasamy.
