PUTRAJAYA: Only the area near the inquiry counter at the Sentul District Police Headquarters (IPD) was closed and not the entire station.
The Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador, said the action was taken after the police found a woman wearing a quarantine bracelet present at the station to lodge a police report.
“A woman was harassed, so she went to the Sentul Traffic Police Station to make a report. When the woman arrived there, the police found her wearing a quarantine bracelet and had cough symptoms.
“The police then informed the matter to the staff of the Ministry of Health and the ministry asked for the area passed by the woman to be closed.
“However, the operation of the station is running as usual, only the area at the inquiry counter is closed,” he told the media after attending the Khazanah Integrated Operation (OBK), here, today.
Abdul Hamid said, more information on the matter will be announced by the Ministry of Health this afternoon.
Previously, spread on social media about the notice posted in front of the Sentul IPD fence about the closure of the hall.
According to the notice, the police station will be temporarily closed until a time to be announced later.
