Oil tanker explodes in Bintulu, five vehicles destroyed in fiery blaze

BINTULU: An oil tanker exploded in front of the Bintulu Medical Centre on Jalan Kidurong in northern Sarawak here.
It is at present unclear what caused the explosion.

Dozens of firefighters are at the scene, attempting to deal with the incident that occurred at about 11.55am.
Initial reports indicate that the as many as five vehicles are on fire.
It is not known if anyone is trapped in the vehicles.

A tanker exploded at a busy intersection in Bintulu this afternoon, burning to death one motorist and injuring several others, the Bintulu fire department said today.
Five vehicles, one a motorcycle, were engulfed in the ensuing fire in Jalan Kidurong, in front of the Bintulu Medical Centre.
The Fire and Rescue Department’s state operations room said the 10 firemen deployed are still trying to put out the blaze. – July 10, 2017.
